How to implement material serial numbers in SAP

HI,

Please tell anyone, how to deal with the following scenarios in SAP-MM

a. Vendor is supplying Materials having item wise serial number.

b How to maintain these serial numbers in storage location.

c. If the stocks are 100 numbers. Even then it is necessary to maiantain the list of all the serial numbers available with us.

Material serial number is not same as manufacturers part number .

Hi

Maintain Serial number profile 0001 in material master.

In that profile you have to maintain for which movement types it should ask serial number. For profile 0001 movement type 101 will be activated, so while GR if you receive 100 pc system will open a new tab in item detail where you have to enter all the serial number for all the 100 material.

Hi,

You can find that field in "Site data/stor 2".

You can reach the config screen directly from the F1 help screen.
