Change of GL account - Cannot be efffected

Hello All

A PO was created successfully; After the PO creation immediately realised I entered a wrong GL account, so have changed it. But the GL account which I changed did not get saved when I saved the PO, there is a information message ME 664; (Changes GL not efffected).

Any inputs appreciated to know or solve this issue?

Hi,

Is that a valid G/L account which you were trying to change to? Before saving, hit "Check" button and see what message it gives, then post here...Shall try to analyse.

I appreciate your immediate response, but unfortunately when I create a new PO with the new GL account it shows no messages If I check!

The problem is only when I change the GL account from the first to new one.

Hi,

Have you processed any GR already for the PO before you try to change the G/L account? If so, that could be the reason. If not, verify the configuration

Spro> MM>Purchasing> Account assignment>Maintain Account Assignment Categories

For the account assignment category that you are creating the PO, verify the details in this configuration area:

If the check box Account assignment changeable is not active or, if Derive Account Assignment is active.

This could be a potential area to research for the problem you described
