SPAM UPDATE ERROR IN CHECK_REQUIREMENT ? HELP

hai,

We are haviung sap 4.7c x200 ,win 2003 ed as o.s and sql 200 db.

i am applying spam update from 6.20/000 to 6.20/0023 and i am getting error

The following details help you to analyze the problem:

- Error in phase: CHECK_REQUIREMENTS

- Reason for error: TP_CANNOT_CONNECT_SYSTEM

- Return code: 0249

- Error message: connect failed due to DbSL load lib failure

Notes on phase CHECK_REQUIREMENTS

In this phase the prerequisites for the import are checked. This phase

can terminate due to the following reasons:

o TP_CANNOT_CONNECT_TO_SYSTEM: tp cannot log on to the system's

database.

Check the action log (in the menu, choose Goto -> Action Log). You

may be able to use the detailed tp error message in this log to

identify and remove the cause of the error.

QUEUE_NOT_EMPTY: The transport buffer still contains OCS requests

that were not completely processed. To display these requests, use

the following tp command:

tp SHOWBUFFER <SID> -DSOURCESYSTEMS= TAG=SPAM

You can only continue processing the import queue when these

requests have been completely processed, or have been deleted from

the buffer.

CANNOT_DROPBUFFER: tp cannot delete old, incompletely processed

Support Packages from the tp buffer.

Check the action log (in the menu, choose Goto -> Action Log). You

may be able to use the detailed tp error message in this log to

identify and remove the cause of the error.

in stms when i ckeck from db connection it is showing yellow icon indicating that connection with batabase is not o.k , while i am able to access tables and make reports also.

i also used r3trans -D from checking connection with the db but it also returned error.

kindly help me out as without this i can't apply patches to my software compnents

I also ran in to this issue when I was applying the latest SPAM update in my NetWeaver 7.0 EHP1 system.

Below are the steps that helped me get passed the errors and get a successful SPAM update.

1. I configured STMS and added two virtual systems

2. There was a modified transport that needed to be released, so I released it

3. I ran the import process again (Got a message EPILOGUE)

4. I green arrowed back and went back into SPAM

5. SPAM was updated successfully

hai ,

with <sid-adm> i am able to connect to tp , in cmd prompt tp connect UPG pf=<tp param file> , when i run this message everything is o.k .

but still in stms> systems> connection to db is coming failed as described in previous message

Dear all,

I have been in identical situation this days. I am running SAP ECC6.0 with SQL 2005 database.

I had returning code 0249 with dbms_type error. Enviroment variables was set for <sid>adm, and also in profiles.

Found a sap note that helped me. it is 31559. All you need to do, is to check in the registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SAP\<sid>\Environment are there enviroment variables set. For unexplained reason, for our SAP DEMO system, these varialbles was deleted ..i dont know how it happend.

There is a tool in kernel directory called NTENV2REG.EXE. just run the file, and variables will be set in registry. after that, everything works fine. I hope that this will be helpfull for you, as I was trying to manage this error for 4-5 days.

hai,

i logged on to my upogadm user which sap has created , and when i run

tp connect UPG pf=<location of tpparam file> , itgives tp connection failed

and in the detail it shows that no user / group UPG exists and connection can't be made

I configured TMs and in STMS>overview> systems>sap systems> check transport tools , there everything is o.k with green status but db connecttion is not coming ( a yellow down icon is coming which on click gives a pop message as below)::

Hi,

The trans.log is fine.. you are probably having some incomplete transports pending in your queue.

Before the upgrade it is mandatory to clear all old transport requests

check

tp SHOWBUFFER <SID> -DSOURCESYSTEMS= TAG=SPAM

Hi Sam,

After running R3trans -d -v as <sid>adm in the OS, there would be a file trans.log generated.

Can you kindly post that log file ?
