How does MDM support SOA strategies ?
Thank you
Priya
MDM is always data management, since Architecture is all based on business, information (data), application and infrastructure, YES MDM play a role in SOA.
SOA is nothing but applying service oriented principles into IT enablement of business needs (Business Architecture) using (Information, Application and Infrastructure) Architecture principles so as long as data is part MDM can be applied.
MDM comes into picture where architecture has to address complex data structure such as product, items, catelog, supplier etc with different consumer and different views.
MDM bring the quality of data architecture and a suitable way to address different views of same data from different consumer's perspective but at the same time provide a processing model based on a single canonical format such as product, catelog, item etc.
When we develop entity centric services, these canonical format play crucial role and that where MDM provide value added features to SOA.
