How do you customize the selection ID for the BOM?

How do you customize the selection ID for the BOM in Customizing since this is necessary for the creation of Production Version?

Could you please help me out with this...

Hi,

1. You need to define the BOM selection id in customising in tcode os31.

In that you need to define the selection priority for your BOM Usage.

2. This selection id need to be assigned to BOM Applications OS30.

3.This BOM Application need to be assigned to Order type dependent parameters.

While determining the order type the system will pick the BOM Application and see the selection id assigned to

BOM Apllication. For this selection id the system wiil

select the BOM based on the defined the priority and BOM Usage.

Hi,

You can create production version using transaction C223.

You can create different production versions using alternate BOMs.

The production version selection can be done maually or automatically in the order type dependent parameters (OPL8). Based on this setting production version is selected during order creation.

Hi John,

I dont think you need a BOM selection ID for creatinr a Production Version.

You can create a production version witha a valid bom and a routing.

Selection ID is used for selecting a particular BOM with a particular Usage,

with the help of BOM application assigned to Order Type Dep Parameters.
