I need to know what kind of 4.6D kernel I am running?
That is, is it 32-bit or 64-bit and also whether it is the EXT version or not!
How do I determine this? Many thanks
Hi Martens,
You can find your kernel details from SM51. If it's EXt kernel, it will show you <46D>_EXT kernel with patch xxx...
Where as plotform is 32bit or 64 bit? you can find it from system -
.status(after loging to system). There look for platform ID, it's vary from OS to OS .Like for windows 560, 561 it shows for 32 and 64.There is one PDF is there you can give a search in Service.sap.com or in SDN.

Hari,
SM51 -> Goto -> Release Information : shows SAP R/3 KERNEL as 46D
...so it is not EXT
Platform and ID is AIX/324 -> Looked up in Note 146289 -> 64 bit
You rock! Thanks for the help.
Than Martens
