Hello all
We have KMATs and KBs in R/3 which I have downloaded to CRM 5.0 system. When I launch the material change transaction in CRM, I can see the KB for the KMAT in configuration tab and if i click on simulate button, I jsut get an error page. This KMAT has a BOM too and I have run the adaptor object for BOM but still in COMMPR01, I do not see the BOM components for KMAT.
Also If I try to create a sales order, I get a message saying configuratio missing and I see a blank configuration tab in sales order line item
PLease adivse as to what I am missing.
Thanks
Jai
Hi Jai,
Configurable materails can't be used in sales BOMs. CRM doesn't support this, if you use a configurable material as header or component product.
If you are not able to see the product configuration on CRM order then check this:
It is a known issue. Did you configure the URL parameters table in CRM with correct IPC URL? If not configure the URL using the following SPRO activity:
IMG > CRM > Basic Functions > Configuration Engine > Define URLs
For the field ' ***** IPC UI - UI_CFG' maintain the values something like this >> Destination - UI_CFG, URL - http://fully qualified host name:port/ipc/ipc/command.do and Description - IPC UI (responsible Klaus Warth)
This should solve your problem. Also make sure you have the appropriate KB object for that material is available in CRM in the table - COMM_CFGKB
<b>Do not forget to reward if it helps,</b>

Hi,
Just wanted to clarify that CRM does support BOM in configurable materials> What CRm doesnt support is multilevel BOM explosion.
To download BOM for a confogurable material all you have to do is to download the KB. But to download BOM's for a standard material, you have to download the adapter object BOM.
To use the configuration UI, You have to maintain the XCM scenario for IPC and use this documentation.

Hi Vimal, Paul
Thanks for your responses and correct CRM does support BOMs for KMATs via KBs and this works ok for me in PME/SCE.
I am still working on getting the UI settings put in place. Quick question. Is it enough to enable IPC via CRM server port and then it auto populates Configuration engine URLs in IMG or Do I still have to complete the IMG section once I update the ports?
Awarding points to both.
Thanks
Jai
Hi Vimal,
Thanks for the update. I agree with you on BOM download object and XCM settings.
I have a dought. When you download the KB from R/3, how does the BOM relationships generated in CRM?
Let us take this scenario.
1. I have downloaded all the materials from R/3 that constitutes a configurable BOM (header and component materials) into CRM as standard materials using standard middleware 'material' object
2. I have also downloaded the KB from R/3 to CRM
Now my question is, when I go to CRM product maintenence, can I able to see the BOM relationship for the downloaded header product?
Can you please clarify. Have you done this scenario before? If so can you give more details.
Thanks,
Paul Kondaveeti
Hi Paul
BOM components for KMATs are not visible in COMMPR01. You will be able to see them only in SCE.
Once you use them in sales orders, SCE is launched and sub items show up automatically.
Also for XCM, do I need to maintain table COMM_IPC_URL as well? Once we restart the java stack, does this fill automatically? For now I have only maintained COMM_IPC_PROP with relevant scenarios.
Thanks Paul
Right now I see following entries in COMM_IPC_URL
P65239_UI_CFG http://p65239:8080/ipc/ipc/command.do
UI_ANALYSIS http://pgwdf101:8080/ipcpricing/
UI_ANALYSIS_ORIG http://pgwdf101:8080/ipcpricing/
UI_CFG http://pgwdf101:8080/ipc/ipc/command.do
Shall I replace the server names and ports with our specific information? and leave the rest the way as is? Or
Thanks
Jai
Jai,
You can just replace the server and port names. I am assuming that you are now using the standard IPC JSP UI and you have XCM set up. If so all you have to do is to change the host and port names and maintain both COMM_IPC_PROP and COMM_IPC_URL tables as expained in link i gave you.
Thank you,
Vimal John
Paul,
Jai is right. I dont think you can see the compnents in commpr01. We use this scenario in my current proj. We can have a KMAT which can explode upto one level. Even the child items can be configurable but it you want the child item to explode- i dont think that is supported in CRM.
For a configurable product KB contains the BOM info. If you look at the logs after KB runtime creation,it will show you the number of BOM's and BOM items included in the KB.
Thank You,
Vimal John

Paul and Vimal
I have got it to work in our QA enviroment but for some reason Basis is unable to view IPC via WAS and J2EE (Can view it without issues in QA). What would be the reason that we could configure on QA but not on DEV. Basically we are launching http://Server name:port number/ipc in both cases and for QA we get the results where as on DEV we dont.
Any ideas? Please share.
Thanks
Jai
Hi Paul
Once I launch Http://Server:port/IPC, I get following:-
<b>The requested resource does not exist.
Details: Go to main page of this application!
</b>
But if i use port as for QA there are no issues and new web page is launched.
Thanks
