HPIA64 with OS version

When I run runInstaller to upgarde to 10.2.0.2 from 10.2.0.1 I get this.

Checking installer requirements...

Checking operating system version: must be B.11.23. Actual B.11.31

Failed <<<<

Why would SAP/Oracle be okay with Oracle 10.2.0.1 with B.11.23 and Oracle 10.2.0.2 fail with the same OS vesrion?

you will have to ask Oracle...

My guess is that you download the wrong Oracle installation/patch for your HP-UX version.

Below is where I got the files and the readme file information.

Can SAP use Oracle 10.2.0.2 use HPIA64 11.31?

Oracle

Oracle 64-Bit

Oracle 10.2.0. 64-bit

Oracle 10.2.0.2

Patchset_10202_HP_IA64ac.bin

Patchset_10202_HP_IA64ad.bin

Patchset_10202_HP_IA64ae.bin

You cat them together & unzip them then you use the runInstaller that was unzipped?

The Patchset_10202_HPUX_IA64_README.htm says:

4 System Requirements

The following are the system requirements for this patch set:

Operating System

HP-UX 11i v2 (11.23)

well, this patch set was not made for your HP-UX version, contact SAP and ask them where you can find Oracle patch for your unix version.

I found the SAP notes that apply to this issue:

1031960 & 980426

SAP & Oracle are okay with HPIA64 11.31, you have to modify how runInstaller works.
