Returns Order Unit

Hi there!

We got situation here - we are ordering from vendors if full pallets, but sometimes we need to return something in pieces or other smaller units. Since in PIR order unit is PAL, we are allowed to return only in PAL's. If we want to return something in smaller quantities, system automatically converts order quantity in PAL's and the amount then looks kinda strange, e.g. 0.033 PAL.

Is there any way to change this?

Hi,

Try this way -

Info record can continue to have its own Ordering UoM. No need to touch that.

In the material master record, maintain the alternative UoM that you wish to use, with conversion factor, in Units of Measure tab under additional data.

Then, in the purchasing view, maintain the indicator 1 - Active for the field, Var. OUn (VABME). This will make it possible to use other ord. uOm than used in inforecord.

While processing MIGO for returns, you may overwrite the UoM for "Quantity in Unit of Entry" under Quantity tab. You may also enter appropriate quantity in the alternative unit of measure.
