Hello. After a system copy it is a usual issue that all your RFC connections do not work. This is caused by wrong entries in the TCode SECSTORE. Go to TCode SECSTORE then on the initial screen press F8 (execute). You will notice a few error entries. The top two should contain the string "RFC" in their name. Select only these two entries that contain the string "RFC" and delete them.

After that your RFCs should work correctly, you will be able to import your profiles correctly and also run SGEN without issues which was your original problem.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

Did you deleted correctly the old profiles?

From RZ10, at the combo you must select one of the old profiles, and then select the menu "<i>Profile-Delete-All versions-Of a profile</i>". At the pop-up don't select to delete at filesystem level.

Repeat this for the 2 old profiles (instance & start).

Probably you will need to re-import the new profiles ("<i>Utilities-Import Profiles-From Active Servers</i>").

Hi Juan,

Now when I check on rz10, it gives me unknown error occured while opening profile editor.

I am really stuck with the errors around. The main cause of all the cause is the profiles.

Hi,

Please, read note 82655 and let us know if it solves your problems. Specially the comments about the upper and lower case at profile names and paths in Windows.

Hi Juan,

The prblem with the Unknown error opening Profile Editor got resolved after I copied the defualt.PFL file in the sys\profile folder. That also resolved my another issue of MMC Disp+work showing yellow icon. Only adding .PFL file resolved the issue.

But now the profile thing is still the issue. I tried copying the old servers files and tried to delete the old profile, but gave some message that Version does not exists ...blah blah... and could not delete any old profile. My list in RZ10 stills hows the old names?? How can I get rid of the old server profiles from the list. If this is taken care, then my other issue or RZ04 and SGEN will also get resolved.....

Prashant

To Eric's, question, there is no change of 32 to 64, its the same.

Markus, I have checked the smlg, as I have dont have any logon group assigned. But the instance is the same of the server WEBSERVER_WS1_00.

What I have found that the RFC ( sm59) Internal Connection WEBSERVER_WS1_00, the test fails. and for others "R/3 Connection" WS1( self test) it fails giving DB Error>>>

I think it( sgen) has to do with the RFC?

Hi Prashant,

Have you re-imported the profiles from tr. RZ10? and, is your instance maintained at RZ04?

Hi,

The internal connection to active server doesn't work.

Since only servers with correct RFC-connection could be used to generate

ABAP load.

Check the "Internal connections" in SM59, to ensure all RFC-connections between the application servers work properly

you can not create or edited internal connection.

Hi JC Llanes,

I think you are right, as I have done the system copy, I could see the old server profile. I tried to import the profiles of Active server, it does so, but some error of log, which tells that not able to read the log hence no import done. I could see the 3 profiles for my server( WS1), but in rz10 it shows the old servers profiles like BOS_DVEMGS00_SERVERNAME and START_....., but in actual the files in \sys\profile folder is the one for the actual server WS1. Why it is not showing here??????? Do I need to copy the old profiles in that folder and from rz10, I choose copy???????

In rz04 it shows DUMMY...

Hi,

don't use old server profile.

Create new profile(RZ10) by importing the actual server profile (WS1) not the old one.

Hi,

You need to manually copy your old profiles to the new path, and then from RZ10 delete the old profiles from DB (first select one, then "delete all versions of a profile", and proceed with the other files). After doing that, "import profiles from active servers" (and adjust them if required).

Then you can create your instance at RZ04 and launch the SGEN correctly.

Hope this helps!

The same problem happened to me a few months ago.

source DB was 32-bit. Destination was 64-bit. the same happens if you go from 64-bit to 32-bit.

you must recompile some objects in Oracle (after shutting down SAP and Oracle)

sqlplus / as sysdba

startup upgrade;

@?/rdbms/admin/utlirp.sql

shutdown immediate;

startup

@?/rdbms/admin/utlrp.sql

exit

tell me if this works for you.

Check transaction SMLG if you are using the correct application server group.
