Hello Prasad,

When you create a Purchase Order with reference to a contract (= release order), the Purchase Order date in the header of the document

(EKKO-BEDAT) is used to check against the validity dates.

No other dates are used (delivery date, etc.).

If the PO date is within the validity period, no error message is issued.

On the other hand, if you enter a PO date which is outside the validity period of the contract, the message 06041 ("Validity period of contract expired on &") or 06040 ("Validity period of contract does not start until &") is issued.

Both messages can be customized as an Error Message in OME0 or under the IMG path:

Materials Management

-> Purchasing

-> Environment Data

-> Define Attributes of System Messages

I hope this helps,

Esther.

Hi,

If the validity period of the contract has been expired, then if you try to create a PO, a warning mesage should appear (Validity period of contract is over). Check the message number. Convert this message to Error message.

Regards,

Prashant
