Planning Calendar-
It is created by 'MD25'&assigned to material master in 'MRP2' view.
If I want to have requirements date only on wednesday according to planning calendar. Then I have to make lot size PK
In planning calendar I have to maintain weekly and chosen wednesday alone as a day in calculation rule.
so the MRP will run and adjust the date and give the proc proposals on wednesday.
The period will start every monday in planning calendar.
Also you can have the option in weekdays and give 2nd week of month etc., in that case you will get the requirement every 2nd week.
similarly for months also.
Factoy Calendar-
Defined by 'SCAL'.In customising, first, you have to create holiday calender&assigned it to factory calender.
Factory calender can be assigned to 'plant',work center.

Hi Vicky,
Factory calender is for workdays & planning calender is solely used for planning. For execution , factory calender is always used.
As per SAP
Planning calendars define flexible period lengths for material requirements planning at plant level.
Usages : If you use period lot size in lot sizing procedure
You can use it for display in MD04
splitting periods in PIR.
