SGEN through all components does not help preventing compiling

Hello

We run SGEN through all components after applying basis support packages.

However the system is still compiling. What could be the reason? Did anyone encounter tha same problem? How to solve this?

Hi Tina,

When you run SGEN make sure you run with the option 'Generate All Objects of Selected Software Components' and then select all of the components on the next screen. You might also want to check the logs to see if the generation went through all of the objects selected for the generation. On an ECC box, there is something like 80,000 plus objects so if you might want to check on how many objects were generated.

As mentioned in the previous post the generation process does not compile all objects in the system. But usually these are functional areas (different functions within SD being one example) that are not invoked until customizing or programming changes are made.

Hope that helps.

Hello Tina,

SGEN compiles a lot of things but not everything necessary.

So it's normal that the system is still compiling.

You don't have to solve anything that's just the way things are !
