I can't see the sub-nodes under SAP Systems after starting the J2EE engine

I installed the SAP J2EE engine last week and it worked well. Today as I start the J2EE engine and as I click the node SAP Systems to open the sub nodes, it takes a while and at the end nothing comes up, i.g. I can't see the sub nodes such as C11 and the engine name.

Somebody can help?

the best way of checking the J2EE services is to run the command

jcmon pf=(instance profile) as sidadm

hit menu functions 10-21

this shows you the state of all your java services.

The error files for the java services are in the work directory, use default.trace.

these can also be accesses using the log viewer

Hi,

Might be that it requires the Service Registration:

Login to the Operating System using "<sid>adm" user.

Click on Start and go to run, enter "sapstartsrv" and then press enter.

You should get a popup with details of asking for SAP SID, Sys Number, Start

profile, please enter all these details properly( for the user details you need to use the SAPService<SID> user credentials).

Hi all,

as I wrote, after the installation last week, I cann see the instances after I start the sapmmc as follow:

Console Root

-- SAP Systems

-- SAP-Test 0

-- SAP-Test 1

But now what I can see is:

Console Root

-- SAP Systems

I try according to your suggestion by starting the sapstartsrv.exe. But how can I fill in the SAP-SID etc.? How can I get the user details?

I am guessing the Services SAP<SID>_<Instance No.> is not running in your system and thats why u are trying to start thro sapstartsrv.exe.

SAP SID=The 3 letter SID that you specified during installation .Eg DEV

Sys Number= The 2 digit System No. that you specified during installation Eg 00

Start profile= the Start profile

User= SAPService<SID> and its password

Note:If you can see the service SAP<SID>_<Instance No.> in services.msc start it there itself by right clicking

Question:

Where can I find the "the Start profile"?

What is the SAPService<SID>?

Is services.msc a programm? Where can I find it?

Now I can see the services SAP<SID>_<Instance No.> in services.msc. But as I start it, it failed. But I get the path to exe-file as follow:

"C:\usr\sap\DKV\JC00\exe\sapstartsrv.exe" pf="C:\usr\sap\DKV\SYS\profile\START_JC00_SAP-TEST"

So I try starting it with sapstartsrv.exe. A pop-up comes and I type in the following datas:

SID = DKV

NR: = 00

Profile = C:\usr\sap\DKV\SYS\profile\START_JC00_SAP-TEST

But I don't know what values should type by User and Password.

Thomas,

User= SAPService<SID>

Password = password of SAPService<SID>

you have to check for service name by SAP<SID>_<instance number> whether it is running or not?

If you are unable to start this service, you need to register this sapstart by

sapstartsrv.exe -t so that it will ask for instance details then give them say OK. I think it will definitely solve this issue....

Thomas,

Please check whether the SAP Services are running. Eg SAPC11_<Inst No>

In Services.msc for Windows.
