Hello Vinod,

Please update with additional information:

-> What are the values of the database parameters MAX_SINGLE_HASHTABLE_SIZE

& OPTIMIZE_JOIN_OPERATOR_SORT?

-> Are you SAP customer?

-> What application/SQL statement was running, when the error occurred?

You have the quit old version of the database, see PTS 1134849 < www.sapdb.org/webpts >, for example, where the "Bad performance at hash join selects with huge tables" was reported.

The issue fixed as of MaxDB 7.5.0 Build 027.

=> Please update the database < I recommend > & see the error will be solved.

The version MAXDB 7.5.00.46 already released for the SAP customers.

Or

Workaround: Disable hash join by setting MAX_SINGLE_HASHTABLE_SIZE to 0

& see the error will be solved after the database restart.

Thank you and best regards, Natalia Khlopina

Thanks Natalia, the problem is gone after database upgrade. The only thing kept me puzzling is that why same queries were working for years. All of sudden they started failing with this problem when I updated Java client application two weeks back.

Thanks,

Vinod
