How often a Cache has to be refreshed and whats industry best practice?

cache are imnportant for faster data processing...these are the palacess where the data gets stored for IS acessing....this reducess the time for IS to goto the actual pace and get data..it is nothing but temp storagr for faster processing and this storga is near to IS.
