Install only analyzer

Hi,

Is there any way to install only Analyzer in system as i don't want user to access query designer and report designer etc. If not then how can i restrict user to other stuff except analyzer.

There seems to be two ways to do this. You can edit the install configuration files, such as \SapBiShared.xml, or use scripting to either delete the files or hide them from the users. Editing the install files can cause problems applying patches and I'm not sure what support you would receive from SAP.

We usually just delete the shortcuts to components we don't want the user to run from the Startup menu. If they know enough to find the missing items, then they know enough to get them re-installed.

hi john,

There is an option "tools" when u open analyzer which can take us to query designer...how to prevent access to query designer from there.

i will give user only exceute and display authorization for his/her role.

Will that b enough??
