<b>Why Material Account Assignment Group Important? Because at my clients place without maintaining Material Account Assignment Group they are able to determine the Revenue Account. They needs to know what is the advantage if they use Material Account Assignment Group.Can anybody help.</b>
Hi Sunil,
It all depends on ur client's requirment. If ur client need the Sales Revenue account to have overall sales entry including all condition types...they go for just a single G/L account.
If client want to maintain seperate G/L accounts for different type of materials sold..like scrap sales, sales services, etc.... V need to maintain Maetrial account assignment group. Thus in account determaintion configuration has to be done for combination of Materail account assignment group/Account key.
Similar is the case with Customer account assignment group. For Industrial customers, Govt. customers, onetime customers, etc....

See the reson behind maintaining Account Assigment Gp for material is to post the Revenue of Different on the Basis of Material Type .
Let say if u want the transaction related to Raw Material to be posted in different account than that of Semi Finished goods ,Finished Goods & Trading Goods for same Customer.
Account Determination Based on Account Key + Customer Account Assignmnet Gp + Material Account Assignmnet Gp .
So if the Accounting Key Say for Revenue account it is ERL and customer is same suppose 20003738 then if u want to post the Amount for Raw material , Semifinished, Finished goods and Trading Goods in different account then only option left is to maitained diffrerent Material Account assignment Gp and on the basis of Different combination u can very well post the Revenue in different account and Track the same.

Material Account Assignment Group is used to differenciate the revenue and expences occured to the type of material. ie sales or expences are occured for what type of material ( Service, trading goods, finished goods and etc). you can maintain the revenue account determination with out this one but if the client wants to know the perticular material type how much revenue has it generated and things like that then it wil be difficult with out this field.
account assignment group from the material master is not necessarily the only field that determines the G/L account. You can configure almost whatever you want in revenue account determination, so making a single field display-only to prevent accidental impacts to account determination seems strange.

Material account assignment can play a vital role, if the company is having diversified business. If they are doing trading, manufacturing, service etc... if they want to post the revenue for each type of material differnty, it is possible to do the revenue account determination based on the account assignment group maintained in the material master.

there is another way also determining account document as automatic positng in screen obyc and obyy
as per my knowledge

In VKOA,revenue account determination screen, the greater the details you give, the more easier would be for the system to find out the revenue account.There is no hard and fast rule that you should cumpulsory use AAG.

Material account group determines whether the material IS TRADING GOOD, FINISHED PRODUCT, SERVICES
based on the account group the system determines whether for this material the amount is posting in the sales revenue or in deductions while doing the billing documents
together with the customer account group the material account group is used for determining the revenue account
