Go to work folder and look for log files. This should help you why JAVA was not running.

Thanks!

Hi Afi,

Re: "Then you cant see java or j2ee at all. you have to have java stack installed in your system in order see j2ee or any java related things."

Chandra already said: "I have only installed ABAP stack initially later on <b>i have added Java stack.</b>"

So, the error must be something else.

@Chandra -- you said that everything was fine, then Java disappeared. What system changes were made in-between?

Matt, Thanks for your reply.

I have configured IGS. and implemented SSO between R/3 and portal.

Then restarted the server.

And i found that Java stack was missing from MMC But i can see ADMIN, Config tool, Cluster, SDM JSPM and all java related stuff in O.S.

Do you think its with Licensing Issue.

Kindly Suggest what can be done. Shall i raise request to SAP.

Hi Mag,

I do not think it is a licensing issue (although you should install a valid license if you have not). With an expired license the system would still start up, then shut down after 20 minutes.

Just to be clear, Java <i>was</i> in the MMC, then it disappeared after a reboot? This sounds very strange. Debugging it through a forum would be very difficult. Did you recently patch the system? And was the MMC running while the patch was applied? Can you log on to Java using Admin tool?

Perhaps a customer message with SAP Support would be appropriate.

Matt

This could be anything...

Can you log on using the Admin tool and/or Config Tool?

I can log into configtool but not Visual Admin.

Sounds like you have a very serious issue....

Can you commit any changes using the Config Tool (it works offline, so it is not surprising that you can start it)?

What error do you get when you start the Admin Tool?

HI,

It displays message as soon as we click default:

"Unable to lookup connection default"

http:DIS:8101:msgserver/text/logon returned empty list of parameters

If you can send me your id then i can send you the screen shot.

The forums are public...information should not be shared via email...it is possible to attach files...

Systems should not "disappear". I recommend opening a message with SAP Support. Too many things could have happened and you will likely resolve the issue faster then attempting a discussion in a Forum.

Hi,

When you did the installation, did you install double stack or only ABAP?
