Hello,

I'm updating R/3 system by transactioon RZ70 but i have the folowing error :

...

0: SGIA9_TE9_01 : Collection of SLD data finished

0: SGIA9_TE9_01 : Data collected successfully

0: SGIA9_TE9_01 : RFC data prepared

0: SGIA9_TE9_01 : Used RFC destination: SLD_UC

0: SGIA9_TE9_01 : RFC call failed: Error when opening an RFC connection

0: SGIA9_TE9_01 : Batch job not scheduled

SM59 for SLD_UC :

Error Details Error when opening an RFC connection

Error Details ERROR: hostname 'a92.....xi001' unknown

Error Details LOCATION: SAP-Server SG....01 on host SGIA9 (wp 0)

Error Details DETAIL: NiHsLGetNodeAddr: hostname cached as unknown

Where is the problem?

Other R/3 updates are working fine.

Thanks,

Laurent.

Hi Laurent,

Try to go to SM59 transction and test the SLD_UC Connection. The error probably will appear there with more details.

Leandro

Hi laurent,

Can you please check the parameters specified under tab "Technical setting"..( This should be R/3 gateway and host in R/3 system..not xi system gateway and host.

"Gatway Options"

gateway host and Gateway service.

Server name and gateway host you can find using TC :SMGW

Check out blog below for same...

/people/shabarish.vijayakumar/blog/2008/01/08/troubleshooting--rfc-and-soap-scenarios-updated-on-20042009

Hope this will help.

Hello Nilesh,

I've checked the Gateway option and changing them has not worked.

I have still the same error in SM59.

When i compare two R/3 systems one that works and one that doesn't :

- SM59 - technical settings tab have the same inputs.

- SMGW - the one that works has 2 lines in first screen "Active connections" and when i go to "Logged on clients" i have 11 connections.

The one that doesn't work has no lines in first screen "Active connections" and when i go to "Logged on clients" i have 4 connections.

The complete error in SM59 is :

Logon Connection Error

Error Details Error when opening an RFC connection

Error Details ERROR: hostname 'a92...net' unknown

Error Details LOCATION: SAP-Server SGIA9_TE9_01 on host SGIA9 (wp 0)

Error Details DETAIL: NiPGetHostByName: hostname 'a92s....net' not found

Error Details CALL: gethostbyname

Error Details COMPONENT: NI (network interface)

Error Details COUNTER: 32

Error Details MODULE: niuxi.c

Error Details LINE: 1470

Error Details RETURN CODE: -2

Error Details SUBRC: 0

Error Details RELEASE: 700

Error Details TIME: Fri Oct 26 09:57:01 2007

Error Details VERSION: 38

Thanks for any help,

Laurent.

Hello Nisar,

This is for SLD_UC and SLD_NUC TCP/IP connections.

In RZ70 of one backend systems it works.

In RZ70 of other backend system with same inputs it doesn't work...

As these connections are generated automatically what can i do?

Regards,

Laurent.

Yes there RFC are generete automatically when you enter the rx70 entries and execute...it is basically an registred server program.....i thin you might not have entred correct entries in the rz70 because the error shows it is not able to find host,,,,,,,,

i think you can try deleting this RFC and create the entries again......

For tcp/ip SLD_NUC

Registred PID is===SLD_NUC

Host===host detail of rz70

sapgateway===gateway yuo entred in rz70

For tcp/ip SLD_UC

Registred PID is===SLD_UC

Host===host detail of rz70

sapgateway===gateway yuo entred in rz70

delet this rfc and make the entries in rz70 one more time and cross check the entries in the created desttinations

I deleted SLD_UC and SLD_NUC and tried RZ70 again with the host we always use in these cases with service sapgw00 and again with sapgw01 but i have still the same error message.

What is wrong?

Laurent.

The sapgateway is the sapgwXX where XX is your instance number check your instance number and enter.

The error is because of th host name is wrong in your RFC details details...check your host name in Rz70 once again......

if the SAPgateway is wrong...it is throw error gateway not started...

if the registred PI is worng the it will SLD)UC not registred....

in your case it is taking the SAPgateway and PID but not host...

what;'s your host name of XI?

https:
<host>:<port>\rep\start\index.jsp

use the same Host value in the Host details of the RFC it will work.

Instance number is 01 so that's good.

The problem should be somewhere else.

Is it normal SMGW has no active connections?

Laurent.

you dnt have active conections yet--not normal i feel

did you check these things

The sapgateway is the sapgwXX where XX is your instance number check your instance number and enter.

Hi,

I already checked this.

Maybe this could help.

When i go in the trace file in transaction SMGW -> Trace file

I can see this :

      • ERROR => GwIRegProg: GwRead failed (NIECONN_BROKEN) [gwxxrd.c 15623]

*****************************************************************************

*

  • LOCATION SAP-Gateway on host SGXXX.XXXXX.XXXX.SNA.TEL.COM / sapgw01

  • ERROR connection to partner '10.218.X.XXX:XXXX' broken

*

  • TIME Fri Oct 26 05:59:56 2007

  • RELEASE 700

  • COMPONENT NI (network interface)

  • VERSION 38

  • RC -6

  • MODULE nixxi.cpp

  • LINE 4130

  • DETAIL NiIRead

  • SYSTEM CALL recv

  • COUNTER 4

so this is your host and gateway

host SGXXX.XXXXX.XXXX.SNA.TEL.COM / sapgw01

just to make sure we have followed steps

1. RZ70 has been updated wuith the above host and gateway....

2. In the 2 RFC (TCP/IP) created we have the host and gateway same information

3. TC: SLDCHECK is working...

4. Just check other RFC (TCP/IP) like LCRSAPAPI is wokring...

is your XI server upa and running?

Ok i just made a test of creating normal RFC connection type 3 and realize this backend system can't find the host that other backends can reach.

I assume there is a network problem. I can't do no ping test but i guess this would not work. Iwill check with the network backend guys.

Laurent

even i think the probelm migth be with the server being reached,,,if you are not able to ping then one thing is sure all the steps you followed are fine once netwrok is up then i think it shoould work fine...

reward points if helpfull

Server being reached is up because i can ping it from other systems.

So the problem is probably on backend side.

Only from this particular backend system is not ok.

Anyway i will reward points after resolution to all repliers.

Best regards,

Laurent.

Problem has been resolved by entering ip address instead of hostname.

Hi,

As suggested by Lindro, check/test your TCP / IP RFC destination using SM59.

Under tab "Technical settings you will find program id. Just check in Visual Admin

if you have JCO RFC with same program id. Program Id should match.
