Hello,
FYI, the original location on service marketplace is

We're going to use the Front End Installation Server for the first time w/ 8,000 users. Previously we did it all with SMS.
Seems to be working well in test mode, other than this issue:
I have 6 installation servers setup using nwcreateinstserver.
The servers\shares are setup in our active directory DFS so that I can use ONE common UNC path to launch the install, rather than having user in site A have to run
site_a\setup_share\nwsapsetup.exe.
Everyone can just use
domain\dfs_share\nwsapsetup.exe
This is working great EXCEPT with regards to LSH and granting admin rights. It fails when using the DFS path. It works fine if I use the direct server UNC path.
Has anyone else tried this and gotten it to work?
Bob

We're rolling out to 9000 users right now using SMS and the SAPGUI 7.10 patch 4 package we created using the SAPGUI installation server configurator. Seems to be working well. Most of our users are on 6.40 but some are on 6.20.

Hi Michael,
We are also planning for roll out for 5000+ users SAPGUI 7.10 from SAPGUI 6.40 using SMS.
Appreciate if you could share your experiances.
1.We are testing now in our test installation server.
In the Installation guide in "3.1 Setting Up an Installation Server", we are
in the first step to execute file NwCreateInstServer.exe but nothing
gets executed nor there is any error displayed.
-> OS used is Windows 2000 server.
-> In the installation guide we could not find any other prereq. other
than having admin rights in the system.
Are there any other prerequisites like to have .Net Framework or Java 1.4?
2.Any other important errors to be fixed using SMS scripts?
Thanks and Regards,
Nagendran
