J2EE Status Info Unavailable

Former Member
0 Kudos

Hello guys,

We have PI 7.0 installed (Netweaver 2004s) that used to work fine until yesterday. We are in development environment.

From today and without restarting the server or anything, I was not able to log into IB tools, i.e. the Java part of XI.

And in the MMC, J2EE XI instance is yellow (ABAP is ok green), and in the process list for the disp+work.EXE process it says:

Dispatcher in yellow color Running, Message Server connection ok, Dialog Queue time : 0.00 sec, "J2EE Status Info Unavailable".

Any ideas??

*Hi, I have an issue with j2ee, I wish you could help me.

When I start the instance in mmc on windows, disp+work procces status is yellow and it says "j2ee info unavailable", after that the process crash and stop. It also says it could comunicate with messege server.

So I have two problems, but the most important is that j2ee dosen't start (I think I have a solution for the other problem).

disp+work status is Yellow, J2ee info unavailable.

the dev_jcontrol and dev_ are the following

For the "j2ee info status unavailable" problem, we just uninstalled and reinstalled our Java 1.4 version, with the same version and it worked. Because in the initial Java installation we had replaced some .jar files, to configure XI security.

Thanks for the information

but forgive as I want to be sure before doing something nasty, how can I uninstall and reinstall java?

As java engine is installed during SAP installation, unless you refer to the virtual java machine which is installed previously to run sap installation.

Furthermore, where can I download it, is it in sap marketplace? where?

I appreciatte the answer, as I could find any in the web.

Thanks a lot in advance

Regards.

By "java", I mean the JVM that is installed on the computer/host/server where XI/PI is installed. I do not mean the J2EE engine.

JVM can be downloaded from Sun's Java Website:

http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/download.html

Either J2SE v 1.4.2_16 SDK or J2SE v 1.4.2_16 JRE is fine to download.

Hello,

Check if your Java Stack is connecting to database....

run the config tool (which is under DEVBMGS<nr>\j2ee\config directory) to check the connectivity.

Dear all,

We are setting up Diaster recover  (DR ) where we are doing the mirror copy of the Source System to Target System.

After mounting all the files in Target DR System, i made the following changes in Target System.

OS: AIX

Dual stack System(ABAP +JAVA)

Instance number used :

00--ASCS00

02-- DVEBMGS02

01--SCS01

03--D03 -------------------------------------------------------------------------->  It is maintained in another DR Server

Database Used: Oracle

a)renamed the Profiles (/usr/sap/KBP/SYS/profile).

b)Changed the dbenv files (/home/kbpadm)  and (/home/orakbp)

c)set right permissions in all files and folders in /usr/sap.

d)Oracle is running and DB is also up

e)Started the profiles using sapcpe

e)After switching user (sidadm), Started the SAP Applications and SAP applications are up.

When i checked the GetProcess list according to instance wise, i am getting below output.

paste the error message when you try to open the IB link.

The page cannot be displayed.

It is like when you are trying to access a webpage without being connected.

And in sxmb_moni when I run an interface I get an error in message mapping pipeline step "Error when opening an RFC connection" ">&quot;COMMUNICATION FAILURE&quot; during JCo call. Error when opening an RFC connection".,.

Obviously because ABAP part cannot connect with Java, where mapping is to be executed.

Refer SAP Note Number 400241.

One more thing if you don't have enought RAM your services won't start correctly or they start first but silently die later due to lack of memory.

try increase you virtual memory and also check if the disk space enough for page file memory.

Sarvesh

There are almost 45GB of free disc space available.

The virtual memory in config tool you mean ??

Max heap size is set to 256 MB for the instance.

Evaggelos

In xi system go to

My computer ->Properties----> Advanced -

> see the Peformance block and check there if it is 256 as you mentioned. then it is very low, you have to increase it.

Total paging file size for all drives: 25,000 MB

In config tool:

Instance max heap size = 256

Dispatcher max heap size = 170

Serve max heap size = 1024

First of all check whether your JVM is running on the host where your J2EE stack is running.

If every thing is fine from your JAVA side you should be able to see 2 services one is Jcontrol and another one is Jlaunch so first of all check whether these services are running or not.

I am sure there must be some problem with your JVM on the host so if you can make sure that is up and running then you will be fine.

J2EE will try to load these services if it does not find the JVM then you will see that error message saying that "status is not availability".

thanks,

Venkat

So this is not a problem of Memory at all.

Try to <b>run your Visual Admin and see what error you are getting</b>. Once it is up check the below mentioned services are running.
