Upgradation from 4.6c to ECC 6.0

Hi,

My client has already implemented ESS and MSS(MDT) in 4.6c,now they want to updgrade to ECC 6.0.

If all the configurations including the customized are moved to ECC6.0 will they work in ECC 6.0 ? (Both for ESS&MSS) or do we need to reconfigure all?

I need some help in this regard

Hi,

I have gone thru the pain very recently. You need to be very familier with Integrated ITS.

I am not sure about the config side in ECC6.0....

Major change from 46c to EE6 is.. ESS/MSS applications.. which are now coming in Webdynpro application form(ITS before).. hence there is new set of customizing which is required to do. There is no extranl ITS, so you have to implement internal ITS(in case you want to use any transaction/IAC based applications.

If you want to retail ond applications, and do not want to use new Webdynpro based applications, you have to see limitation of internal ITS, you can refer release note for ECC 6.0 for the same.

For 4.6C there are no XSS (ESS&MSS) Packages available I know.

So all you did were Custom Developments I guess. It is important to know how you are porting them to Portal.

Via direct Transactions over ITS or via IAC Applications over ITS?

In the first scenario, all will work if HR side resides same for running apps.

In the second secenario, you've to migrate application to the new built-in ITS.
