SAP GUI disappears abruptly while viewing SXMB_MONI

Hi, all.

i'm using XI 3.0 with SAP GUI 6.40(GUI 6.20 was same) patch

level 11.

When i run SXMB_MONI and try to see message detail, sometimes

SAP GUI disappears(SAP GUI process is finished abruptly).

This happens sometimes. About 1 or 2 times in weeks.

Is there anyone who experienced same phenomena? And any

solution?

Hi Sejoon,

very old wellknown error. It happens sometimes if u open other modi. Reboot ur computer or use context "download" and look local to the message. Sometime only one splitter window dissappears, than u can use context "show message in window 2".

Is there any other solution other than reboot? Reboot or re-launch of SAP GUI seemed not to be the essential solution.

Hi Sejoon,

no, unfortunately not. When I recognized the problem first time, i spent a lot time 2 solve with new sap gui and so on without finding a good solution. As i told u, if i just want 2 have a look, i prefer the download, if i m working intensive with sxmb_moni i reboot.

Don't think that SAP products r perfect, compare them with microsoft products.

Yes, you're exactly right.

i found the corresponding Note.

Note 801404 - Blank frame in transaction SXMB_MONI

It says like the following.

You have to close all open sapguis. Please also check in the process list of the task manager, that there is no saplogon.exe process active anymore. Otherwise kill the process.

Then restart the gui and call transaction SXMB_MONI again.

There is no patch available yet, we are working on a solution.
