Hi all,
I am facing a problem while I tried to restart the XI server. One of the instances is not starting up.
When i expand that instance, go to process list->disp+work.EXE->Developer trace. Here I see the following message:
"WARNING => DpNetCheck: NiAddrToHost(1.0.0.0) took 5 seconds
***LOG GZZ=> 1 possible network problems detected - check tracefile and adjust the DNS settings [dpxxtool2.c 5273]
MtxInit: 30000 0 0
DpSysAdmExtInit: ABAP is active
DpSysAdmExtInit: VMC (JAVA VM in WP) is not active"
Please help.
Regards,
Divija.
Hi Divija,
Check your MicroSoft loopback adabper if you have given the values in it e.g.
192.168.100.01
255 255 255 0
also make an entry in your "<b>hosts</b>" file, if you have not done. e.g
192.168.100.01 <press single tab> <give system name> <press enter>
After doing this restart your server.

Sarvesh

Hi Wai-Hon Lam and Fadel Taha,
I could not get a clear solution to the problem and got it solved with the help of basis guys. I believe the problem was there with an user to the MSSQL server. I think the server started working after they unlocked the user. Not sure but.
I am closing this thread now. Will update this thread if I get any more useful information regarding this.

Hi Vamshi and Sarvesh,
Thanks for your replies. But the problem still exists.
Now i have found one more problem in the server. In the server, I am going to Computer management-> System tools-> Event Viewer-> Application. Here I am getting the following 2 messages:
1. Type: Failure Aud, Source: MSSQLSERVER, Description: Login failed for user '********'[client: **..*]
2. Type: Error, Source: Servername_01, Description: SAP-Basis system: Operating system call getservbyname failed(error no. 0)
Can these be the source of the problem?
Regards,
Divija.
