Backup Error

Hi all,

I am getting the below error in Devlopment R3 during backup.

BR0233E Backup utility has reported an error while saving file /oracle/DR3/sapdata4/dr3_18/dr3.data18

Can any one suggest me what to do?

Hi,

the error is for umask the user

ls -l /oracle/<SID>/oraarch

640

Change value 640

-rw-r----- 1 orapbb dba 48795648 Jan 15 16:38 PBBarch1_7235_626451227.dbf

and re-execute in db13

please post the full bckup log. we are missing valuable information to help you.

also supply SAP/OS/DB versions

Hi Shivraj,

The external backup program reported an error while saving the file.

Check the other messages from the external backup program. If required, contact the supplier of the external backup program (the supplier of interface program BACKINT).

Hi,

check initsid.sap file options....it so may happen that your initsid.sap file parametre is not allowing to backup files with big size ... 2gb+ files...

The backup device formated by NTFS no problem it is taking more than 2gb files also

You check the log in using transaction db13

check place is avaliable or not. please send the log details.

Dear Shivraj,

You can check the logs to find out what exactly is the error. You can find the BRBACKUP logs in the sub directory sapbackup under Oracle Home and also the alert_<SID>.log under the subdirectory saptrace.

Kindly post those.
