Cross Catalog Search

We are looking to implement SRM 6.0 and MDM and have the following questions related to cross catalog search:

1. Is it possible to perform cross catalog search (internal and/or external) at the same time?

2. Is MDM required for cross catalog search?

3. Would the external catalogs need to be replicated into internal catalogs in order to perform cross catalog search?

Yes.

2. Is MDM required for cross catalog search?

No.

3. Would the external catalogs need to be replicated into internal catalogs in order to perform cross catalog search?

No. External catalog should support OCI function BACKGROUND_SEARCH. But most of external catalogs do not support BACKGROUND_SEARCH. You should ask catalog supplier to implement the background search.
