Welcome! You certainly came to the right place to get your question answered!
The short answer is that RFID stands for Radio Frequency IDentification. It really
became a hot ticket item when the larger retailers mandated the companies like mine
start shipping our products with RFID tags attached. The ensuing pandemonium has created
a rush of Internet articles and weblogs that do a pretty good job of defining the technology
and giving the usual opinions. If you want to learn more about RFID in general, check out
these websites; they should give you a sense of what it is all about.
