Hi,
What mechanisms are available to store data in certain fields in an encrypted format, say social security numbers or credit card numbers, so that if the database is cracked into the information that is available is of no use, yet SAP has means of accessing the data and decrypting it for transactional purposes? The database I have in mind here is the Oracle DB sitting under SAP ECC 6.

I would try the Human Resources forum. I'm pretty sure that this is a requirement that they had to deal with.
