Sapcar error

Dear All,when I try to unpack a file with SAPCAR utility I receive this error ;

SAPCAR: processing archive ml_22-20000359.sar

x /QSYS.LIB/R3FIX46DA.LIB/ML.FILE

SAPCAR: can not change date for /QSYS.LIB/R3FIX46DA.LIB/ML.FILE (error 14). Operazione non supportata.

Premere INVIO per chiudere la sessione del terminale.

do you want to overwrite ML.FILE? or just extract it from the sapcar?

this is probably a stupid question, but is the R3FIX.. library empty before you start the sapcar?

I unpack this sar file in a dir that contains a lot of STMF files.

Hi Vittorio,

the sapcar message indicates that it is using R3FIX46DA. We always clear the R3Fix lib before we do the sapcar for kernel patches as we had problems when the file we tried to extract existed already in R3FIX.. (from an earlier kernel patch). Though I cannot remember if it was the same error message you are getting.

I'll try to clear the library and do again sapcar.

I have a problem with SAPCAR. I am unable to uncar the .SAR files. its throwing an error

processing archive SAPup7002_36-20001261.SAR...

format error in header

pls advice me how to resolve the issue

Hi Raama,

do you use at least SAPCAR 6.40 Patch 4 ??!

I would always suggest to download Windows SAPCAR 7.0 and decompress on windows. The result can be FTPed binary into a SAVF and you are fine

Don't know the error but try using sapcar on windows and ftp the file to the Iseries.

I want to unpack the files in os/400 ,i unpack a lot of files with this utility i don't know why now doesn't work.

Anyone knows where get sapcar error codes list ?
