hi

consider a landscape

Landscape meaning a corporate (network) environment where you have say

1. SAP CRM solution

2. SAP HR Solution

3. Third Party (NON SAP Solution)

Now suppose you need to integrate these systems.

Since XI initially doesnot know what are all these system, you need to make an entry in the SLD about all the three system, by giving all system information like hostname, database used ect...

THIS IS CALLED "you are creating a Technical system"

Business system is more to communicate with each client of the solutions existing in the SLD

Hi

Business system is a logical layer needed for configuration in integration directory. On the other site technical system is physical representation of your technical landscape. In case of SAP technical systems you can have more than one business system relation. In that situation there is relation one client to one business system.

If your technical system changes, then you definitely need to point this new technical system to the existing Business system which has been used to do all the Configurations in the Integration Builder.

Thanks

Hi babu

First I let u know with analogy and actual definition as below

Any module of SAP like MM, SRM, FICO ets makes a logical system in combination according to business requirements is a business system which is actualy hosted on an application server like ABAP AS or Java AS which is basically a technical system.

Technical systems are application systems that are installed in system landscape (a CRM server, for example). Most systems (Web AS ABAP and Web AS Java systems) automatically report information to the SLD about the elements that they contain by using the SLD data supplier programs. You need to manually register the following types of system only:

Standalone Java systems

Third-party systems

Business systems are logical senders or receivers that exchange messages by using SAP XI and that are entered in the System Landscape Directory.

The business systems in the System Landscape Directory relate to a system landscape.

The business systems of business partners are not entered in the System Landscape Directory. To be able to address such business partners logically, use services in the Integration Directory. A business system is a way of specifying a service in the Integration Directory more precisely (business system service).

Reward point if it help u understand

BABU,

let me give u a example WEB AS JAVA, WEB AS ABAP, THIRD PARTY ...these are technical systems....

Now Consider WEB AS ABAP....in this system u may have multiple clients...(clients are use to logical grouping...) suppose 100,200,300 etc...

Now u create BS with respect to client of ur TS.

remeber...one TS may have several BS...

u can check...

BS physically does not exist..these are only logical names of client..

SLD is based on the CIM model ( Common Information model)

this model clasiifies the system in terms of SWC, Product, TS, BS to list down....

TS--> Technical details of the system likeserver name, IP etc....it mostly identifies the syetm with it's technically ( this gives option to change the TS in future suupose you change the server or its configuration etc)

BS---> represents the BS usuage identity suppose youa re using the SAP r/3 clnt 100 is sued for develoment activity 200 for QA here the R/3 palys the TS system and 100 200 plays int he Business system....for that particular business wht'a the role of this system......

this classification allows you to change the system configuration in SLD in near future with out having need to reconfigure the system in SLD.

Hi Babu,

Business System is a logical representation of a Technical system.

Business System = Technical System + Client.

Business Systems points the Technical System and client, which contains the technical parameters that are required to connect to particular system like port, message server etc.

Advantage of Using Business System:

1.Using Business System saves you time from inputting all technical details and client number each time you need XI to communicate with them.

2.In future if there is any changes in the technical system such as client changes there is no necessary to change the scenarios in XI instead it is sufficient to change the Business system to point to the new technical system.
