Service Entry Sheet - Enter Cost center or Work Order

What is the easiest way to allow either Cost Center or Work Order entered in Service Entry Sheet(ML81N). We currently have issues with both Cost Center and Work Order entered by the clerks. The same cost centers are charged twice via work order settlement and via the cost center enetered. We need to physically restrict the entry of both but allow one or the other. Any suggestions? Thanks much!!

Hi,

Easiest way would be to fix the account assignment in the purchase order. There will be some limitations but will prevent double postings.

Cheers !

Hello Debbie,

If Plant Maintenance module is there in your company, you can enter the services in a Maintenance order for making service entry sheet. System will take care of Maintenance order and there is no question of entering a cost center during creation of entry sheet. But for settlement of costs, you have to create settlement rule against cost center in Maintenance order.

If Plant Maintenance module is not there, you can create purchase order for services, select Account assignment as 'K-cost center' and Item category as 'D-Service'. During creation of Service entry sheet against that service purchase order, system will automatically picks the cost center, which is already maintained in purchase order.

Reward points if it is useful.

Thanks. I am more thinking along the line of creating a rule to make sure during the service entry sheet enteries, only either cost center or work order is entered...not both. Thanks!
