Kernel patch Upgrade Form 994 to1068(40B_EXT)

Hi,

We are migrating OS,DB From V5R2 to V5R4. We are currently working with COM kernel on our OLD boxes. Now we have applied 4.0B_EXT kernel 994 successfully from CD(51020599) in new Box. Now need to apply 1068 patch to support our V5R4 box. How can i apply 1057/1068 patch available in archive service market?.

Detail Steps are appreciated/rewarded.

Hello Jibin,

I believe you are working with Kariprasad on the same project (even same job number in the trace file), meanwhile you two may have approached this forum independently.

The answer from me would be same as Volker's. Because CDPOS is not a transparent table, please check CDCLS instead on DB2/400 level (file attributes, whether you can SAVOBJ, etc - call IBM support to verify if you like).

If the object is ok, and you still cannot access it after deleting SQL packages, it is very weird and OSS support could be your best hope.

Hi Victor,

You are right, we have recovered the CDCLS as per the note 831678 but still we are getting a dump when we access CDPOS table. This time DBIF_REPO_INTERNAL_ERROR dump we are getting with the error "Internal error when accessing program "/1BCDWB/DBCDPOS ", any clue is appreciated.

Hello Jibin,

Note 49365 explains the kernel upgrade process well.

The common/easy process is to uncar the SAR/CAR file on PC after download, move the SAVF to iSeries by ftp or Navigator, then APYR3FIX from the SAVF to the kernel library.

Hi Victor,

I have applied kernal(1068) in OLD BOX and restored all the SAP(40B) related IFS and Libraries sucessfully in NEW BOX(V5R4) .

Now the problem is when I start the Instance

1. msg_server

2. SAPOSCOL (Perfomance collector)

3. WRK00 (workprocess)

Is not running but all other jobs are running. when I try logon from SAP GUI, The first Screen is displying some special char like (@@ @) and not showing Client,Username and password.

Can you sugesst some clue. where exactly problem existing.

Hello Jibin,

If the msg_server doesn't run, it is a serious problem...

Checked the developer traces in the work directory and the job log (as spool files)?

As you know we have migrated our SAP 4.0B from V5R2 to V5R4, now we are facing some problem when we access table CDPOS, we get SQL -901 dump. In the dev_w0 trace, iam getting "Missing PTFs from the IBM InfoAPAR" but all the PTF's are upto date when i check with from OS and SAP(CHKR3PTF). Here is trace file
