hi
what do you mean by DOCUMENT FLOW>?
regards
murali
Hi,
The document flow shows how far the sales document has been processed and creates a business transaction out of consecutive documents in the system.
For example, a document flow could contain a quotation, a sales order, delivery and an invoice. If you displayed the document flow from the sales order, the quotation would be a preceding document and the delivery and invoice would be subsequent documents.
eg; sales order -> click ENIVROMENT in menu bar--> here select docuemnt flow

Hi Murali,
Document Flow is nothing but the pattern how the documents are arranged according to the settings (configurations) we had done.
Generally in sd process the materials flow in the process as
Order - delivery - pgi- invoice.
Also in between if we come across different scenarios like warehouse management and shipment, we will have the document flow flowing into them also.
Generally We use VBFA to know the document flow and we can know the status of the document and also we can trace out the order number , delivery number, invoice number if we know any one of them.
AWARD POINTS IF IT ADDS INFORMATION.
Thanks
Mohan

Hi
If you want to display preceding and subsequent documents, you need to have maintained the copying control in Customizing.
Go to the IMG and choose Customer Relationship Management --> Transactions --> Basic Settings -->Copying Control.
Linked documents, for example, preceding and / or subsequent documents are available for the selected transaction. If this is not the case, the Document flow pushbutton is not active.
Features
Display interlinkages, for example, preceding and subsequent documents for a selected transaction in the form of a list
Overview: Display transaction currently selected, and documents related to it (for example, preceding and subsequent documents)
Detail view: This screen area provides further information on the individual documents, for example, the role of the document (preceding document, subsequent document) as well as the date and time of creation
Branch from the detail overview to related documents
Increase the screen area to display the document flow
The document flow displays the interlinkages to a business transaction, and displays documents linked to each other in the system.
When processing business transactions, you can display the document flow for a selected transaction, for example, information on the documents linked to the current transaction. For example, you can trace which transactions a specific standard order refers to.
A possible document flow could consist of a task, a quotation and a sales order. If you displayed this document flow from the quotation, the task would be a preceding document, and the sales order would be a subsequent document.

Hi Murali,
take ex. sales cycle which starts from enquiry.
IN->QT->SO->delivery->billinig-> accounting document.
For a customer, above all documents are created. when one searches for the documents for certain delivery document, through sales document, just go to VA02, click on document flow. System shows all the documents particular to the above cycle.
Document flow involves the data copied form one document to other document. all thje documents involved in data flow from one document to other document are displayed.
If u have created 10 billing documents (partial billing) for a single document, all those 10 billing documents are displayed in document flow.
Reward if helpful,
Praveen.
