Bp rolecategories

Hello People,

Can someone enlighten as to why do we have Role categories in customizing for

BP role, if any one has to say something like this," If we want to use BP roles as a basis for programming we have to assign them to Rolecategories", can any one of you experts help me with an example?

All answers would be rewarded.

Hi Murali,

BP Role Categories determine:

1. For which all Business partner categories the Role is valid.

2. You can even put restrictions like for a particular role No Change is allowed.(BP Role Category---> Business Transaction)

Which Classification like Customer, Competitor, Consumer etc is also determined from the BP Role category and has been hardcoded in the system.

Eg. For BP Role category CRM000 classification Customer is choosen.

The Concept of BP Role category has come in CRM 5.0, it was not there in CRM 4.0
