ESS - Confirmation eMails

We would like to send the user confirmation eMails when they have made a change via ESS. Has anyone implemented this. If so, where / how?

2. the respective application badis

Using Infotype 0009 as an example,

Hi Michael,

Did you by any chance find a solution to this? We are wanting to do something similar in that we want to force SAP to do something extra just after the ESS user presses save in an ESS service. Is there a BADI that can be used the SAP process after the user has pressed saved?

Dear Barin,

We need to add approval step in ESS Personal Data, Address & Family Data application.

But, standard RFC HRXSS_PER_SAVE directly updates database.

Could you please let me know if there is any way we can stop RFC from updating data in database and trigger workflow instead?

We have done this many times.

1. What is the ESS version you are using with ERP.

There are following ways to achieve this

1. throught infotype badis

2. through respective application badis

3. workflows

You can send executable emails to where if an employee enteres the data in ESS then it goes to his superior as a notification in the inbox and when the superior executes the notification then it will open a PA30 disply only with all data that is entered by the employee.

You can also send emails to external id.

Standard SAP has provided w/flow for some of the applications on ESS. Customers can use these w/flow to trigger notifications to target audience.

For rest, I would pull a feature into the RFC that gets triggered on using the service. A bit of customization is needed.

I am currently not sure of any standard BADIs available for the same.
