What is the transaction number in 9th step of LSMW, "Read Data"

Hi,

From the LSMW document:

Step 9: Read data

In this step, LSMW reads the data (Figure 16) from the source file (from your PC’s local drive). You have the option to read only selected rows and convert data values to Internal format.

Thanks Arun for the reply... Yes I realise what READ DATA step is for. But wanted to know what should I type in transaction number field. ?

Hi Ramona

If you are doing a direct input and you want to know if you should change the transaction per commit field that has a 500, that ideally indicates not a transaction code instead it referes to the numbers of iterations that the system will do. Meaning that it will break the whole input file in batches of 500 records each.

I f you could be more specific in what step of the LSMW you want to have more information, I could help you better.

In the Read Step of the LSMW you would want to leave that field blanck if you want to read the whole file. Only in the case where you would want to read just a portcion of the file you would enter there a range, say 1 to 100,000
