coding mask error

hello,

I am using ECC 6

I have configured the coding mask as follows

:000/0/xxx/000/000

my project id is 4 char long

when i created the project with id abcd:001

my first wbs element abcd:001/1

my first wbs element under the first wbs element is : abcd:001/1/1

my second wbs element is : abcd:001/1/2

. .

..

...

this way well right upto 9th wbs element abcd:001/1/1/9

10th element is coded as %00000001

can anybody pls explain why so? and what will be the solution

Dear Shiv

The coding mask should be enough to cater ur requirement. But in your case coding mask is allowing only one digit in the first level of the WBS Element, i.e. u can create only nine coded WBS Elements in the first level. If u want more then change your code to something like "000/00/xxx".

Hi,

For a particular position, you cannot exceed the limit defined in coding mask. If you define a particular position as single digit, you cant enter more than single digit at that particular position.
