HI all,
What is the use of DUMMY Profict Centre?
regards
JK
Hi
The Dummy Profit Center is a concept used in PCA in SAP. When the system is not able to derive a profit center or find an assigned profit center, the dummy profit center is used. Thus all the documents in PCA are complete and the FS can be drawn based on Profit Centers.
When the profit centers are finalized. Information from Dummy profit center can be moved to Individual Profit Centers
assign points if the information is useful to you

Hi
A dummy profit center (DPC) is the default profit center considered bythe system, shen posting a transaction, where no profit centre could be specificaly identified.
This happenes when you make a poting to a CO object, which has not been assigned to any profit center
You can distribute the cost accumulated in DPC using distribution and assesment cycles at month ends.
A dummy profit center can be mainly used for,
1) A DPC is used for storing transactions that are not directly linked to any other profit centers
2) It is also helpful in reconcilliation betwwen FI and Controlling
3) A DPC helps to discover missinf assignments betwwen CO objects and profit centers.

HI Janardhan,,
In profit center account if u dont create the derivation rules,,,,all the transaction will go and sit in the dummy profit center,,after the month end...u have to transfer the amounts manually from dummy cost center to respective profictcenter.once u define thederivation rules...all the transaction will go and sit in to the respective profit center...
if useful plzreward the points
