When running "sapgenpse get_pse", do I need "CN=..."?

I did "sapgenpse get_pse" on different projects.

At the very beginning, I always used a "CN=..." as an option.

Later, I have found out the option "CN=..." is not necessary.

Could anyone explain why?

Hi Lee,

There is no need of mentioning the client no. while getting the cert. This is because you already know( by login to the client) from which client you are getting.

Is there a confusion in your answer between the Common Name (CN) from the X.509 certificate Distinguished Name (DN) and the SAP client number ?

I run at the UNIX command line. Therefore it's not client related.
