How to distribute BW Hierarchy Node Values

Hello,

Iam planning using Cost element Hierarchy(BW) with postable Nodes(Cost Elements). I need to know how to distribute the values posted at the node level.

Eg. Cost element (A) has leaves cost element B and C.

When i enter plan data data shows like this

A 100

1. 0

B 60

C 40

when i change the A to 200 the layout shows

A 200

1. 100

B 60

C 40

I want to know how to distribute the 100 to B and C , so my result should be

A 200

1. 0

B 120

C 80

A, B and C are all cost elements. and Iam using BW hierarchy.

Any help in this regard is highly appreciated

Hi Raju,

it seems that you are using BW-BPS and there the budgeting logic with BW hierarchies with postable nodes. With this type of hierarchy the dummy leaves corresponding to the postables nodes will get the delta values as you have described in here. This is called budgeting functionlity. To distribute values form the dummy leave to the 'real' leaves is not implemented you have to do this by hand (manually).

One option is to use BW hierarchies with text nodes instead of postable nodes and then to use local function in Excel Inplace, cf. note 667906 (attached document !) for more details. Here the system does the top down distribution automatically. In this data model the dummy leaves are not needed.
