material group valuation class assignment

Can somebody tell be how material groups and valuation class are linked.

Where this is customized.

Hi , first u have to define the material group in tcode OMSF and follow the path ton link the materil group to valutionclass

IMG..>MM...>Purchasing...>Material master...>Entry Aids for Items Without a Material Master.

There u can link both.

Hi,

In the IMG settings - MM - purchasing - Entry items for items w/o material master - Assign valuation class & pur val keys to material group.The assignment of a valuation class to a material group enables the system to determine different accounts for the individual material groups.

For PO, It generally works to for item line w/o material, the config is in SPRO-Materials ManagementPurchasingMaterial Master--Entry Aids for Items Without a Material Master, you can read the config note in the SPRO path.
