Dear Guru
I have three instance i.e ( central instance and other two application instance ) you can say C11, C21 C22 ( C11 is my central instance )
I am testing the RFC connection by using the transaction SM59
in this i used the below parameter
Connection type T TCP/IP connection
Front-end workstation ( program lprint )
When i click on test connection i get the below error
timeout during allocate / CPI-C error CM_PRODUCT_SPECIFIC_ERROR
Pl guide me how do i solve this issue

Finally we found the error , it was in fire-wall not at any other place

But my issues is where i will define my program i have give lprint as one program for example
We have external application that is bank realted application name of the application i say " ABC.EXE " its exist on my PC d:\bank\abc.exe
When i login to my CI ( central system and give the RFC connection then its work ) i get the reply its working in same its not working for other instance why?

0 KB: 19 msec
10 KB: 21 msec
20 KB: 21 msec
30 KB: 24 msec
But if if login to my AP1 or AP2 instance then its give me error
In RFC i give below parameter
RFC destination CITIBANK-TEST
Connection type T TCP/IP connection
Then i dont click on Start and Registration i had clicked on Front-End Workstation
and in Front-end workstation i had given in program namd d:\bank\abc.exe
when i test the connection i get below error
Connection test TEST-CITIBANK
Connection type: TCP/IP connection
Connection error timeout during allocate / CPI-C error CM_PRODUCT_SPECIFIC_ERROR

Dear Dominic,
Do you have the Three AS's on three diff host? Did you check the host name and/or ipaddress of the host where the external program is and have you configured it correctly in all the three AS's?
Is this particular external program on a different SAP system?
COs then you will also need to configure th gateway settings
Who is using this RFC connection?

Dear Dominic,
You need to change the RC Destination type.
Since it is within the same SAP System, you should specify the Destination type as R3 (number "3") or Internal and not TCPIP
