file in /usr/sap/<SID>/<Instance no.>/work directory deleted

Dear Guru's

By mistake we have deleted all the files from the /usr/sap/<SID>/<Instance No.>/work directory .We do not have any backup of this directory

Can anyone help me with the following queries

1.) What will be the impact .

2.) What are the files in the work directory

3.) What is needed to be done ...

Hi Anthony,

1- If the instance was running, the WP should have canceled. If it was stopped, the only problem deleting .../work/ contents is the lose of historical (maybe unnecessary) WP logs.

2- At work dir, there are temporal, trace and log files.

3- If the instance is now stopped, just start it and the content of the work directory will be created again.

work directory contains temporary logs and files. no permanent files should reside in there.

so, no worries and take a coffee break!
