RSECADMIN and wild card values

0 Kudos

Hi

I have created a Analysis Authorization object as below.

Infoobject : 0SHIP_TO --> Made auth relevant

1. RSECADMIN>Maintenance>Create authorization--> ZSHIP_ATH and values as follows

0SHIP_TO = CP | 100*

0TCAACTVT = 3

0TCAIPROV = *

0TCAVALID = *

2. Tab USER>Assignment> assigned ZSHIP_ATH to the user

3. Created a query and authorization variable of type "selection option" and NOT ready for input.

4. While I ran the query...NO DATA FOUND

5. whereas if I change the 0SHIP_TO = EQ | 100 - 2000 , then the values are appearing...

So, if I want to show all the 0SHIP_TO contains pattern 100*, how do i do it...and what type of authorization variable I should be creating..

TIA

Gopi

Hi

I got the reply from sap as follows...it looks like we cant use wilcard upto SP 12.

Please refer note 1010075: APPEND_FAC_TO_SLICER:WRONG_OPERATOR; Var from authorization,

In this note:

======================================================================

For the general case, we strongly recommend that you define the filter

in the static filter area and not in the dynamic area.

======================================================================

Because this note is note the latest version, so the "recommend" is

written, this note will be updated, and it will become "mandatory".

So, unfortunately, please do not use the dynamic area like "CP | 100*",

just use like "EQ | 100 - 2000".

Thanks for the update

However you can apply that particular note SAP mentioned using SNOTE transaction.

Hope it Helps

Even I asked them...they said...nope even it is not fixed in SP 12...so life long patterns can't be used in authorization variable..thats it period..:)

Hopefully they should update all the white papers and help to reflect this I think...it is unnecessary making us pulling our brain out...
