Application Services developed with SAP NW CE 7.1 - CAF (EJB Model ?)

Hello!

First of all I use the SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio of the SAP NetWeaver Composition Environment 7.1 (SP01).

Now to my question:

I have 2 projects in my workspace. A "Development component"-project where I developed the Application Services and a "Web Dynpro Development Component"-project.

Now I want to use my Application Services in the Web Dynpro Application. All the howtos write something like this: "The developer only needs to call the generated get<AS_NAME>Service method to get reference to application service <AS_NAME>."

In the Build Path of the "Web Dynpro Development Component"-project I add the "Development Component"-project. But I can only instanciate an object of the class <AS_NAME>BeanImpl and call the methods.

Which is the correct way to get reference to an application service?

Or do one typically don't use application service in Web Dynpro?

Regards,

Armin

Hi Armin,

Consume the BAPIs from the CAF as external service do the external configuration in service registry to maintain backend connections for your external services.

Right click on the Application Service Name then select Expose Service as webservice .Then use this webservice from Webdynpro application by Import Adaptive Web Service Model.
