Dear Folks,

Is it possible to do a creditcheck in the sales order on the basis of only open billing items and not at open sales order?

Thank you very much.

Hi,

You can do this by assigning a simple credit check to the sales document type.

T Code : OVAK --- assign simple credit check to sales document type here

A - Simple credit check with warnong

B - Simple credit check with error

C - Simple credit check with delivery block

This checks only the open order (open billing document) value only.

Example : credit limit 100000

Open billing document value : 80000.

Now if you create a sales order for below 20000 the system will not show any error/warning.

If sales order value is above 20000 - sales order system will show the error or warning...

Hope this will solve your problem

Reward points if helpfull...

If I have correctly under stood your question, then the answer is <b>NO. It cannot be done.</b> All the three update groups ( in case of Automatic Credit control) consider both Open Items and Open sales order values. Even in the Simple credit limit check, the Credit value is calculated basd on Open Items and the Current Sales Order value.

<b>Simple credit limit check</b>

A credit limit check can be carried out when sales documents are created or changed. The check is carried out within one credit control area. When changing a document, the check is repeated if changes regarding quantity or value are made. A credit control area consists of one or more company codes. A sales document belongs to one credit control area depending on the allocation of the sales organization to a company code. The SAP System checks the credit limit which was granted to the customer in this credit control area. The credit control areas and the credit limit of a customer are defined in financial accounting and entered in the customer master record. During the check, the SAP System totals the receivables, the open items from special G/L transactions and the net value of the sales order for every item of a sales document. The open items take into account obligations bound by contract which are not recorded for accounting purposes but which involve expenses through diverse business transactions. The total is compared with the credit limit. If the limit is exceeded, the system responds in the way defined by you in the configuration menu.

Hence, I think this is not possible in std sap, but if anybody knows a workaround, then I will be certainly glad to know.

Thanks

Its not possible to do a credit check just on the basis of billing document, because if its a static or a dynamic credit check it would decide the credit value of the customer based on the cumulative value of the following documents:

1) Open Doc.Value / Sales Order Value : Which is save but not delivered

2) Open Delivery Doc.Value : Which is delivered but not billed

3) Open Billing Doc.Value : Which is billed but not posted to FI

4) Open Item : Which is transfered to FI but not received from the customer.

and the horizon date in case of dynamic credit check.

Thanks

Award points if helpful.

Hi,

It is possible in this way,

In credit control area you need maintain UPDATE GROUP 000018 (Then it considers only open billing items).

In Simple credit check OVAK --- assign simple credit check to sales document type here

A - Run Simple credit check with warning

B - Simple credit check with error

You can maintain any of these it will at block the order level

Remaing all same settings

Thanks

hi

the reason behind the credit check is to stop the transactions with a customer whose outstanding is more than the expected. thats why we try to stop the sales order processing or we stop it at delivery level. if we put the credit check at invoice level... the scenario will be 1. sales order created 2. delivery and picking and pgi is also done. this means you delivered the stock to the customer or u are going to delivery the stock . then there is no point in maintain a credit check .
