Hi

Standard SAP recommends to keep the sales organizations as minimum.

Example:

If a company wants all the sales proceeding of one country to be different of that of another country though they belong to same company code, we can go for another sales organization.

A good thumb rule is if the material can be sold in both sales organizations, under one company code, then we must opt for one sales organization.

Award points if it adds information.

Thanks

Hi

These are the guidelines governing the creation of <b>SALES ORGANISATIONs</b>

1. Legally, a sales organization is included in exactly one company code.

2. You can assign one or more plants to one sales organization.

3. The sales organization has an address.

4. Within a sales organization, you can define your own master data. This allows a sales organization to have its own customer and material master data as well as its own conditions and pricing.

5. You can define your own sales document types within a sales organization.

6. You assign sales offices and your own employees to a sales organization.

7. All items in a sales & distribution document, that is, all items of an order, delivery or a billing document belong to a sales organization.

8. A sales organization is the highest summation level (after the organizational unit Client) for sales statistics with their own statistics currency.

9. The sales organization is used as a selection criterion for the lists of sales documents and for the delivery and billing due list.

10. For each sales organization, you can determine the printer for output differently based on sales and billing documents.

11. A sales organization cannot share any master data with other sales organizations. The master data must be created separately. The data for a distribution channel or a division can, however, be created for several distribution channels or divisions.

Now according to your Client requirement you can decide whether a single Sales Org will serve the purpose or you have to create multiple sales Orgs.

Its always better to keep the No. of Sales Orgs to a minimum.

Hi Ipsit

We can define Sales Organization as "An organizational unit that sells and distributes products, negotiates terms of sale, and is responsible for these transactions".

So you have to decide based on the clients' process, whether one sales organization is enough or two.

Thanks

Hi,

It is always advisable to go with Single Sales organisation unless the business demands.

Suppose if you are doing business in two different countries but the business process is the same,it is advisable to go with one sales org.you can show the countries as Sales office.

hi,

Ideally, in one country, we should have one sales organization. If we have more number of Sales Organization, then the configuration data, as well as Master Data will be high.

But of course, understanding the client requirement, we may have to go for more than one sales organization.
