Portal timeout or any other error results in Java Dump

Hi,

Most of us would have seen this issues. Whenever there is an error on the Portal or timeout occurence, the Portal throws a typical Java Dump on the screen with java codes in it.

Is anyone aware of how to get rid of this Java Dump and show some user friendly error message.

Whenever the end users see such kind of dumps, they invariably think that the Portal Instance is down and create a high priority message to the BASIS Team. We want to avoid this.

Any pointers wuold be highly appreciated.

Hi Makarand ,

There is an option is avilable, you are right it will take some default error message it will display. Check under portal/ content administration, under one tab you will see this default error messg.
