hi pushpa

Once you have represented the organizational structure of your company, you can choose between three different options for representing technical objects:

· Functional structuring (only functional locations)

· Object-related structuring (only equipment)

· Combination (equipment at functional locations)

Functional Structuring

With this type of structuring, you subdivide your technical system into functional locations. For example, when you subdivide a production line into functional locations, you can represent the individual function units as functional locations in the system.

If you use functional locations when structuring your technical system, you can also take into account the process-oriented or spatial structure of the system.

For more information, see Functional Location and Reference Functional Location.

Object-Related Structuring

With this type of structuring, you subdivide your technical system into pieces of equipment. A piece of equipment is an individual, physical object that is to be maintained independently, and that can be installed in a technical system or part of a technical system.

Combination

You can combine object-related structuring using pieces of equipment with functional structuring using functional locations. In this case, the pieces of equipment are installed at functional locations (installation/dismantling of individual objects at a functional location).

· The functional location represents the site where the technical tasks are performed.

· The piece of equipment represents the object with which the technical tasks are performed.

Within the framework of a damage analysis, you will then be able to recognize, for example, whether or not damage occurring repeatedly is linked to the usage site, or is specific to the objects made by a particular manufacturer.

Structuring From a Technical and/or Accounting Perspective

When you perform structuring from a technical perspective, you assign the technical objects of the system to particular object classes (equipment, functional location and assembly classes).

You can use this type of structuring in addition to structuring from a functional and/or object-related perspective.

When you perform structuring from an accounting perspective, you assign the system and its technical objects to certain cost centers or tangible assets.

You can use this type of structuring in addition to structuring from a functional and/or object-related perspective.

well thanks for ur answer

i have learnt of creating funloc and eqpt creation and installing it in funcloc(combinationa structuring) and in this you would maintain funcloc hierarchy using structure indicator.

Now plz tell me in detail how to maintain eqpt hirarchy , wether you would create any subeqpt ? plz explain.

hi pushpa

you can create sub equipments in the equipment master record itself ,for that first you have to create the equipment master for sub equipment then assing these equipments to superior equipment.

go to the equipemnt master record in change mode( which you decide would be the superior equipemnt) then select the SUnequipment in the Structure menu bar,

new screen will appear, if you want to install a new equipment then press installing..you can also dismantle the equipment

Hi Kolla.......

For creating equipment hierarchy, you have to create sub equipments........the procedure is as follows.......

1. Create the Equipment master for all the equipments you want to maintain in Heirarchy.......

2. Go to the Equipment Master of that equipment which you want to be on higher side in hierarchy......now go to its Structure tab.....in this tab, there is a subscreen at the bottom as Equipment, click on the icon at the right hand side (it is Sub Equipment icon)......

3. Clicking this will take you to the Sub Equipment Screen....here u can mention one or more equipments that you want to be below this equipment in your heirarchy........

Hope this will help you........

hi pushpa

if you are structuring with the combination of functional location and equipment then you must have master record for the both or else you can have either equipemnt or functional location master record only as per the structuring

Hi Kolla........

There is nothing called as Different Types of Structuring of Technical Objects.

See....the Structuring of Technical Objects means aligning it in a way so that immediately after having a look at it, you can get the idea where is that thing located, who is responsible for that etc.

As you know, Technial Objects is nothing but Function Location, Equipment, Work Center etc. When we say Structuring we mean the Broad Calssificarion of technical object with details in master data. For Function Location, we use structure indicator in which we do broad classification of location of object & then in its master data, we give further details like location section, room etc. In Organization tab, we define responsible team for maint. etc.

Hope you got my point,

Regards,
